Born in France, raised in Italy and Switzerland, I now live in Easton, Pennsylvania since 2003 with my husband and our two kids. With a background in History of Art, I've always been inspired by Art, colors, textures and composition. I firmly believe that a day without creating, even something very simple, is not a good day. Creation is in everything, while cooking, painting with my watercolors brushes, taking pictures with my camera, knitting with yarn as well as sewing. I started sewing after my son was born in 2011. It was on my bucket list.
Being far from our families and european friends is not always easy. I miss them, I miss Europe, and I miss the nice little things from France. Kids with stylish bedrooms, girls with nice "Liberty" barrettes, cute outfits with peter pan collars, all these "je ne sais quoi"....that so many people envy the French ...
So I decided to create Paul et Madeleine. A boy and a girl, hand in hand... and a garland, because these garlands were the first items I sold. I began to make some for my friends' kids, as baby gifts or even as kids party decoration.
I have a lot of little addictions in my life. Chocolate is one of them, Art and Cooking Books, and now Fabric!... You will find items made with the famous Liberty of London fabric, but not only. I like to play with patterns, colors and to define my own style. I recently found fabrics from South Korea with lovely patterns and incredible quality! I also love American fabric Designers (Birch, Michael Miller and Art Gallery...)
All creations you find here are home made. (in a non smoking and pet-free house). with my Janome machine.
Welcome to Paul et Madeleine!
